Presently, the therapeutic choices available for Dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) are limited, but cognitive stimulation, particularly through serious games, shows promise. These games, designed for remote access, are suitable for home or institutional use and are particularly beneficial for individuals with limited mobility and those residing in rural areas.
Our current study evaluates an app-based cognitive training program for home and care-home settings, focusing on the feasibility, usability, and acceptability of tablet-based cognitive training.
The internship consists of the following tasks:
- Participant recruitment and management
- Data collection: implement and assess app-based cognitive training in healthy participants and participants with mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Data processing: transcription of the feedback from participants and assistance with statistical data analysis.
- Group meeting: Become part of our team and get insights into ongoing research projects at our weekly group meeting
This part-time internship position will involve about 300 working hours and is based in Bern at the University Hospital of Old Age Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. Start: ASAP.
Qualification:
- Prospective candidates should currently be enrolled in a master’s program in Psychology or a closely related field.
- strong organizational skills & attention to detail
- proficient written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
- Candidates are expected to display a keen interest in clinical research, medical diagnostics, data analysis, as well as wearable technologies
